Kunwer Sachdev is certainly an unconventional self-starter. While he was at the top of his game in the cable television business he quit to enter a relatively nascent and only homegrown inverter industry which was in total disarray. But this was to lead to a path whose milestone would be innovation. The story of Sachdev's Su-Kam Power Systems ltd., is the biggest example of 'Make In India'.
Kunwer Sachdev, dons many hats, that of innovator, marketer, motivational speaker, a visionary entrepreneur and a fitness fanatic of our times. Born to a middle class family in Delhi, Kunwer, without any background in technology, founded a company known for its technologically advanced products worldwide with presence in 90 countries around the globe. Innovation and sophistication in products is Kunwer's passion, he has not only conceptualized products which were ahead of their times. These innovations were possible only due to the robust Research and Development unit of Su-Kam, also the first in the industry. Su-Kam has provided solutions to the customers even before they could wholly realize the problem, that has helped them file over a 100 patents, which is the highest number for any Indian company. Kunwer is recognized as a leader who always has a new approach to solving most difficult of problems and his expertise in training people have made Su-Kam a Launchpad for many successful professionals in the industry today. He has assumed the role of the leader in marketing as well because many of his novel marketing ideas became trends and are still going strong; for example it was he who started with Su-Kam branded boards for dhabas, where he would charge a small amount from the dhaba owner to put a board and now as you all know it’s the other way round. His exceptional oratorial skills and charisma make him a favorite speaker at many prestigious events and TV shows. His inspirational 'rags to riches' story has been featured in bestselling books.
